Each juvenile court and school system chooses their own set of four sessions from a state-of-the-art “menu” consisting of 17 different sessions. Selections are based on local needs.
In juvenile courts SUPER is used as a condition of probation or to decrease a disposition from a judge.
In school systems, SUPER can be a ticket back to regular school from alternative school. Or it can shorten the number of days of out of school suspension, where the student may be “out on the streets” drinking or using. In order for students to attend the four two-hour evening sessions their parents must attend with them. Families can also attend on a completely voluntary basis.
