These costs include medical care, work loss, and pain and suffering associated with the multiple problems resulting from the use of alcohol by youth. Town Hall Meetings (THMs) to prevent underage drinking are now being organized in communities across the country. Many of these THMs will focus on the risks faced by children in families with substance abuse problems and will present effective prevention strategies to address this and similar issues.
