Knowing where to turn-with assurance of confidentiality is a vital first step in recovery. More than 3,000 treatment inquiries a month come to The Council's Substance Abuse Internet Resource (SAIR) website. This is an easy-to-use channel to the most complete database of substance abuse facilities in the United States - a detailed, current compilation of more than 750 institutions and programs.
Contacts come from health professionals, concerned family members or addicts themselves. We offer comprehensive information on treatment facilities to match individual needs with appropriate help. Each SAIR 'hit' represents a promising move toward recovery for someone trapped in alcoholism or drug addiction.
The Council on Alcohol and Drugs does not offer treatment or treatment referrals. To speak to someone for help in finding treatment or a referral, call the United Way at 211 or if outside of the metropolitan Atlanta calling area, dial (404) 614-1000.
Or call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line at (800) 715-4225 or visit them at http://www.mygcal.com for access to mental health, addictive disease and crisis services 24/7.
